Follinique Hair Growth Treatment (Scam or Not?)

Follinique Hair Growth Treatment (Scam or Not?)

Follinique Hair Growth Treatment

There are a number of effective hair growth treatments out there, but there are just as many ineffective ones. Sorting the wheat from the chaff is no easy job, but that’s what we’re here from and one of the recent products to come on our radar is Follinique Hair Growth Treatment. This has been hailed as everything from a miracle baldness cure to a waste of time, a scam, and an expensive bottle of snake oil.

So, just which one of those is true? In this guide we aim to find out, answering the following questions and more:

  • What is Follinique Hair Growth Treatment?
  • Does Follinique Hair Growth Treatment Work?
  • What are Follinique Ingredients?
  • Where Can I Buy Follinique Hair Growth Treatment?

So, without any further ado, let’s get to it, answering the questions that you’ve been putting to us ever since this product hit the shelves.

What is Follinique Hair Growth Treatment?

Follinique Hair Growth Treatment is a shampoo created by Follinique, a brand that has released many different hair care products on the market. It is a hair regrowth formula that comes in the form of a drip bottle. You apply the formula to your scalp, you massage it in, leave it in and then wash it out when the label advises.

Basically, you do exactly what you would do with Minoxidil, and that’s not by chance, as we shall discover.

Does Follinique Hair Growth Treatment Work?

Does Follinique Hair Growth Treatment Work?

This shampoo contains Minoxidil at a concentration of 2%, and because we know Minoxidil works we can also be fairly certain as to the effectiveness of Follinique. The question is not really does it work, because based on the ingredients it should. The question is, “Are the other ingredients effective enough to make this a worthwhile product or should I just buy Minoxidil?”. It’s something that we also addressed in our Keranique Hair Regrowth Treatment article and one that often crops up with products like this.

So, what is the truth? Well, as far as we can gather, Follinique Hair Growth Treatment is not a scam, contrary to what many reviewers might suggest. However, you probably will be better off with a genuine Minoxidil formula and there are many reasons for that.

Firstly, they are much cheaper. You’re not paying for extra ingredients and you’re not paying for big branding either. As a result, you can stock-up on enough generic Minoxidil formula to get you through a full treatment, as opposed to the few weeks that you could get for the same price with Follinique Hair Growth Treatment.

There is another issue as well, and it all comes down to those added ingredients. As we have learned from WEN Hair Growth formulas, sometimes these extra ingredients can be harmful, as well as expensive. So, not only are you paying extra for ingredients that are at best less potent and at worst useless, but they may also be harmful.

We’re not in the business of dismissing products altogether, but we have a little personal experience with this one, as you can see with our Follinique reviews further down.

Follinique Hair Growth Treatment Ingredients

Follinique Hair Growth Treatment Ingredients

There are no Follinique Hair Growth Treatment ingredients listed anywhere. The only thing they claim is that it contains Minoxidil, but it does contain other ingredients and if the advertising is to be believed, then there is much more than Minoxidil at play here.

The lack of clarity with regards to the ingredients is not the only problem either. One of the main issues we have with this protect is that it has been pulled from sale on Amazon and other retailers. You can still purchase many other Follinique products on Amazon, but Follinique Hair Growth Treatment is very hard to find right now. We know this wasn’t the case just a few months ago, so we can’t say what happened in the meantime, but something clearly did.

We wouldn’t go as far as to say that Follinique was a scam based on this, but we would advise caution. There is a chance that it was pulled because it caused problems. That might not be the case and there may just be a stock issue or a licensing issue, but either way caution should be advised and we would recommend that you avoid buying this product until there is some clarity on this issue.

Where to Buy Follinique Hair Growth Treatment

As mentioned above, Follinique has been pulled from many top retailers at the time of writing. You used to be able to buy it on Amazon, but that is no longer the case. In fact, we can’t actually find many places that do sell it. You might be able to find it in a local pharmacy or beauty shop, but we would recommend you ask the people behind the counter if there are any issues with the product.

Follinique Reviews

So, what did our writers and editors think of Follinique Hair Growth Treatment? Well, for one, it seemed to work. There was a noticeable increase in hair growth and a limit in hair loss and this applied to both testers, one a female with little hair loss and another a male with significant hair loss.

However, both of these testers had used generic Minoxidil formulas before and they reported that the results were no different. In fact, in the case of the male tester, the results were said to be less effective, although we were unable to confirm this with actual pictures or measurements.

This pretty much backs up what we said above: Follinique Hair Growth Treatment may be effective, but only because it contains Minoxidil. And when you consider that you’re paying for much more than Minoxidil and exposing yourself to the risks associated with all of these added ingredients, it’s probably not worth it. You would be much better off with a generic formula or even with a brand like Rogaine (also known as Regaine in other countries), which is more or less pure Minoxidil.
