Your Hair Growth Questions Answered: Hair Growth FAQ

Your Hair Growth Questions Answered: Hair Growth FAQ

Does Biotin Help Hair Growth?

Hair Growth Pills was created to help you to answer your hair growth questions. We began by focusing on the big questions and we answered them in detail. However, before long you began to ask many more questions. We have done our best to keep up, which is why you can find hundreds of articles across this website, but to help make life easier for you we like to compile some of them into FAQ articles every now and then.

That’s what this article is. These questions all focus on hair growth, and your questions concerning them. We have also written an FAQ on hair loss where we study the many things that can trigger it. So, check the article below out first and then take a look at that one if you still have some questions.

What Vitamins are Good For Hair Growth?

One of the best vitamins for hair growth is Biotin, which we will discuss in more detail below. There are many other vitamins that cam help to trigger hair growth though. These include everything from Vitamin C to B Vitamins, Vitamin D and more. Minerals like Iron and Zinc can also help and are often included in hair growth supplements.

Does Biotin Help Hair Growth?

Of course! This is actually something we have addressed at great length in the past. If you take a look at out Biotin for Hair Loss article you will see what we had to say about this B Vitamin. It is one that we discuss more than any other, and you will notice that it is also found in all kinds of hair growth supplements and shampoos.

That’s because Biotin helps with the hair growth process. It is actually involved in that process, helping the body to create the enzymes that it needs to activate those hair follicles and get that hair growing. The same can be said for many B Vitamins, but Biotin plays the biggest role of all.

How Much Biotin for Hair Growth?

This vitamin is abundant in food and you should be getting enough of it regardless of what you eat and even if you are a picky eater. However, more might be better. The hair growth supplements that contain this vitamin tend to have more than 500% of your RDA, if not more. It is a water soluble vitamin, so it’s okay to take high doses (to an extent) because what your body does not use will be eliminated.

However, you really don’t need that much. You should look to consume a few hundred percent of your RDA, preferably as 2 or 3 doses throughout the day. You can also use a topical solution in the form of a hair growth shampoo, although in this case there is really no concrete proof that it will do you any good.

How to Increase Hair Growth?

Increase Hair Growth?

There are many ways that you can increase hair growth. The way you choose will depend on a number of factors, from your health status to your budget, your sex and your age. For instance, if you have a lot of bald patches and a lot of money, then a hair transplant might be the best solution. If you prefer something non-invasive and the hair loss is not severe, then you can use supplements, vitamins and other natural solutions.

In all cases, you can also use products like Minoxidil, which is available (and FDA approved) for both men and women and should be relatively harmless in most cases. If you are a man and you are above the age of 40, then you may also benefit greatly from a medication known as Finasteride. This is basically a wonder drug as it works incredibly well for hair growth, but it can also stop your prostate to growing to painful proportions.

How to Promote Hair Growth?

As mentioned above, it’s just a matter of finding what works best for you. You may need to try many different hair growth formulas before you find one that works. In fact, many people suffering from hair loss do just that, but they often make life difficult for themselves in the process.

They try expensive shampoos for day or weeks; they try Minoxidil and give up quickly; and they rely too much on unproven supplements. There is no point in trying something if you’re not going to use it properly. So, always follow the advice on the label, always use the product for a full course of treatment, and never overdo it or rush it. Only when you have followed the label to the letter can you think about giving up if it does not work.

How to Stop Hair Growth?

Stop Hair Growth?

This is rarely a problem that people have with the hair on their head. And in all honesty, it’s something you should not look to stop with the hair on your head. It is a natural process and stopping it could cause harm. What’s more, it might be irreversible, so you could regret it at a later date.

As far as the hair on your body is concerned, this is less of an issue. As discussed in our Hair Growth Rate article, all hair grows at the same rate, but for many, the hair on the body is just not wanted.

There are laser treatments that can get rid of this, and there are also creams that may be able to help. The trick is to stop the hair follicle from working, which is not easy and usually more trouble than it’s worth. Instead of trying to stop the hair you should be looking for ways to keep growth to a minimum and to keep the area clean and well moisturized in order to limit problems and discomfort.

Does Coconut Oil Help Hair Growth?

At the very least coconut oil will help to protect, moisturize and strengthen you hair. It is highly unlikely that it will actually trigger hair growth, but because it can strengthen your hair, it may help to increase the hair on your head.

What’s more, this is a natural product and it’s also fairly cheap, so you don’t need to worry about it doing harm or causing side effects and you don’t need to worry about it costing you a small fortune to keep the supply going.

How to Stimulate Facial Hair Growth?

The best way to grow facial hair is just to keep the area clean and wait. This is very much a “watched pot never boils” situation. The more you stare and wig, the longer it seems and the more frustrated you become.

There are a few things you can do without resorting to Minoxidil and other medications though. If you pay a visit to our Eyebrow Growth page you will see that we recommend treatments like castor oil, aloe vera and other oils and vitamins. These nourish the hair follicle, protect the hair and they might just be able to help with hair growth. It’s not going to give you the Grizzly Adams look overnight, but it should protect at the worst and help to increase growth at the best.

How to Promote Beard Hair Growth?

As with the above, it’s just a case of proper cleaning and proper care. You can also use oils and other products and because it’s your beard and not eyebrows and eyelashes, it is easier to apply products and to leave them in overnight without worrying about anything getting in your eyes.

You can use castor oil, olive oil, coconut oil and a combination of all three. There are other oils and other substances that you can use as well. If you’re really struggling with beard hair growth then you may also want to try using Minoxidil on your beard.

Does Castor Oil Work for Hair Growth?

Does Castor Oil Help Hair Growth?

This is one of the oils that we recommend the most for hair growth as it is one that actually seems to work. Not only can it protect, but it can also nourish. It does this via its Vitamin E content, which is great for the skin. Castor oil can also help to kill bacteria that sits on your skin and inhibits hair growth. This bacteria will not make a huge difference in your hair growth fortunes, but it’s just one of the many ways that this substance can help.

How Much Castor Oil to Use for Hair Growth?

You don’t need a lot of this substance to help with hair growth. You should dilute it and/or add it to something else. We often recommend using it with aloe vera gel when applying it to your beard, your eyebrows and your eyelashes, and mixing it with water when applying it to your head.

You should try and leave it in for at least an hour or two to get the most benefit out of it and to allow the castor oil to work. This can be tricky because it’s an oil, which is why it is important to mix it with a substance that gels, forms and sticks.

Does Folic Acid Help Hair Growth?

This is something that we haven’t covered a lot, because as far as we can see, folic acid does not help with hair growth. It is a good vitamin to take and it can certainly help when consumed with other hair growth vitamins, but on its own it is unlikely to cause any noticeable difference.

That is, of course, unless you are suffering from a deficiency. In such cases you may be experiencing hair loss and/or thinning of the hair because of a lack of this important vitamin. By adding it back to your diet you can reverse those problems.

How to Make your Eyelashes Grow

How to Make your Eyelashes Grow

How to Make your Eyelashes Grow

Want to know how to make your eyelashes grow? It’s rare for your eyelashes to have any issues with hair loss like your hair does. But if you’re female then there’s a good chance you want big eyelashes to complete your beauty regime. There’s a multi-million dollar industry built on making your eyelashes look longer. There are mascaras that add a sticky, black substance; there are fake eyelashes.

But you don’t need to use these products as there are natural, cheap ways that you can grow your eyelashes. You don’t need chemicals, you don’t need to spend a fortune and you can still see some results. They might not be as instant as the results you would see from mascara or fake eyelashes, but it’s a look that is much more natural, and that’s where the best beauty lies.

How to Make your Eyelashes Grow: The Basics

Before we list some supplements and substances that can show you how to make your eyelashes grow, there are a few basics that need to be considered. All of these can help you just as much as some of the ones listed below and they can also serve as great preparations.

One of the things that often gets overlooked is simple grooming. The reason mascara works so well isn’t necessarily all down to the substance that coats your eyelashes, but rather it’s the brush itself. Your eyelashes have a way of sticking together and they can also clump with bits of dead skin and other detritus. All of this makes your eyelashes look shorter than they actually are.

To remedy this, you just need to take a clean mascara brush which you run through your eyelashes a few times everyday. In fact, as you will discover, these brushes come in handy for more than just mascara and you should look to have a few of them on hand so you can use the substances below, while also keeping one clean for regular pruning. If you do this then not only will your eyelashes look longer immediately, but you’ll also help to clear the way so they can grow more.

You also want to clean then to get the same benefits. Just wet a cloth and dab it over your eyelashes. Do it gently and do it before you use the dry mascara brush.

How to Make your Eyelashes Grow: The Vitamins

How to Make your Eyelashes Grow

The next step is to make sure that you get a steady supply of essential vitamins and minerals, as well as plenty of protein and amino acids. These are the building blocks of the cells in your body, whereas vitamins like Biotin and Niacin are used in the hair growing process. So, the more you have, the easier that process will be.

What’s more, a lack of certain vitamins can cause hair loss and hair damage and that applies as much to your head as it does to your eyelashes.

How to Make your Eyelashes Grow: The Oils

One of the best substances out there for growing eyelashes is castor oil. We have discussed this oil a lot here on Hair Growth Pills. It can help with all kinds of hair growth and it can also condition your skin. Castor oil works because it helps to kill bacteria that sits on you skin and inhibits hair growth.

That’s not all. Castor oil also contains Vitamin E, which is great for your skin and can also nourish your hair follicles. By applying castor oil to your eyelashes you are helping to rid those follicles of bacteria, while also supporting hair growth and keeping your skin in the best condition possible.

The same can be said for olive oil, coconut oil and even argan oil. They all work in a similar way, protecting your skin, supporting your follicles and ensuring that your hair grows long and strong.

These oils should be mixed with something else before you apply them. The best way to use these oils is to mix them with aloe vera gel. You want a consistency that is sticky, much like mascara. That’s because you need to apply them like you would apply mascara. Just create your concoction, dip your brush in and then apply. You will need to leave this concoction in your eyelashes overnight, before washing it out in the morning.

That’s way it’s important not to use directly, as the oil would drip otherwise and you don’t want this in your eyes. You can also just use a smaller amount, leave it in for a short time and then wash it out. But this is not going to have the same effect. Also, the aloe vera gel can soothe your skin and negate any irritation caused by the oils.

How to Make your Eyelashes Grow: More

Tips to Make your Eyelashes Grow

It’s not just oils that you can use to create homemade concoctions. We have discussed some remedies that you can use in our DIY Eyelash Growth article. But there are many more ingredients that you can benefit from, either on their own or when combined with something else. In all cases you need to add them to a mascara brush and then leave in over night.

  • Lemon Peel: You can combine lemon peel with olive oil or argan oil. You can also use castor oil, but we find that olive oil works best with lemon peel, while castor oil is better suited for use with aloe vera gel. Just add the peel of a lemon to a jar, cover it with olive oil and then leave it to sit. The oil will become infused with the lemon peel, leeching all of that vitamin C.
  • Fruit Extracts: Fruits are packed with vitamins and minerals and they can work wonders for your skin and your hair. That’s why you will find extracts of blueberry and other berries in many hair growth products; it’s why lemon peel works so well. You will need fruit extracts as opposed to actual fruits. The concentrated form means you’re getting a bigger hit of vitamins and minerals.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: If thousands of nutritionists are to be believed this substance can cure everything and can help with everything. We’re not quite sure about that, but it certainly has its uses.
Hair Growth Rate: How Your Face, Body and Head Hair Grows

Hair Growth Rate: How Your Face, Body and Head Hair Grows

Hair Growth Rate

One of the questions we get asked the most here on Hair Growth Pills is: “How Fast Will be my Hair Grow“? You might think that this would be hard to answer. You might think that genetics, environment and other factors play too much of a role to effectively determine hair growth rate in all individuals. But you would be surprised.

In this guide we’ll look at average hair growth rate to show you how fast your hair will grow, how fast your beard will grow and how fast your eyebrows and eyelashes will grow.

Hair and the Human Body

Hair Growth Cycle

Hair grows all over the human body. This applies to all of us; men and women and people of all ethnicities. Women tend to grow less hair on their bodies and contrary to what you might think, the reason men and women from certain regions have such visible hair is simply because the hair is so dark that it shows more.

You may notice hair everywhere from your fingers and hands to your toes and feet. The only places that we do not grow hair are the soles of the feet, the palms, the lips, the bellybutton and the eyelids. Scar tissue does not grow hair either.

But when the hair does grow, how quickly does it come in? What is the hair growth rate for the different parts of your body that do grow hair? Well, there are three stages of hair growth. These are known as the Anagen Phase, the Catagen phase and the Telogen phase. All of these stages are discussed in more detail below.

Hair Growth Rate: Stage 1

This is also known as the Growth Stage and it is the main stage of hair growth. It lasts between 2 and 6 years, something that is determined by a number of factors, including genetics. Because this is the main phase of hair growth, the majority of the hairs on your head are in this stage at any one time.

The hairs are constantly dividing on a cellular level and then breaking through the skin, after which the follicles nourish the growth and keep the hair growing.

Although the length that this process lasts can be determined by genetics and other factors, the rate of hair growth is actually the same for everyone and for all of the hairs on your body. This hair growth rate is roughly 0.5 inches per month.

This equates to around 6 inches per year, and this rate is more or less constant, because as soon as this hair growth rate period ends, the cycle begins again.

Hair Growth Rate: Stage 2

The body sends out random signals to end stage 1 of the hair growth period for specific hairs. This happens to around 1 percent of the body’s hair at any given time. This is a transitional period and it lasts for just a couple of weeks.

During this period the hair follicle is afforded the time it needs to regenerate, after which it advances onto the third hair growth stage.

Hair Growth Rate: Stage 3

In this final stage of hair growth the hair follicle will sit dormant, with no activity and no growth. It can remain like this for several months, after which the first stage begins all over again. Around 15% of your body’s hair is in this stage at any given time.

This cycle of hair growth means that you constantly have a full (or what seems to be full) head of hair. The hair grows, it falls out, it lays dormant and then it grows again. The fact that the first stage, the growth stage, is always the most dominant means that even when 15% of the hair is in the dormant stage, it is not visible.

This is one of the many amazing processes that the body goes through and it is one that is as true for the hair on your head as it is for the hair on your face. But as with all amazing processes that the body goes through, there are some major flaws. Hair follicles can become damaged, they are easily destroyed and they are susceptible to damage from a number of natural chemicals that our bodies produce.

That’s why hair loss in men and hair loss in women is so common. Still, there are treatments that you can use to kick-start this cycle all over again and we have discussed these treatments many times on Hair Growth Pills.

Hair Growth Rate: Body Hair

Hair Growth Rate Body

Obviously, there is a reason your eyelashes and your eyebrows are not covering your face and growing at an uncontrollable rate, and that’s because the cycles of growth are much shorter for them. The cycle is the same in that there is a stage of growth, a stage of regeneration and a stage of lying dormant.

You have probably seen a few of your eyelashes or eyebrow hairs falling out and that’s because the second stage has ended for those hairs and they will be entering the third stage soon.

How Quickly to Grow my Hair?

Hair Growth Rate Speed

If you are not suffering from any hair loss issues, if you do not have male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness and you do not have a receding hair line, then you can expect to go from short hair to shoulder length hair in approximately 2 to 4 years.

If you use hair growth products to keep the area clean and free of bacteria, and if you use products that can limit hair loss (effectively stopping the early end of that first stage) then you can speed that process up. Such treatments include Minoxidil, which is designed to limit hair loss but can also help to speed up hair growth.

How Quickly to Grow my Beard?

The rate of growth for your beard is the same. The cycles may be shorter, but for the most part the growth will be the same and if you are an adult male then you can expect to go from clean shaven to a full beard in between 12 months and 18 months. There are other factors at play, including genetics and the care that you take over your beard. But contrary to popular opinion, you’re not less of a man, nor do you have less testosterone just because you can’t grow a full beard quickly.

What more could you want?

Caster Oil for Eyelash Growth

Caster oil is one of the best things you can use for eyelash growth. And don’t just take our word for it. This is a popular eyelash growth DIY trick that countless women around the world use. It is a little time consuming and it can be a little messy, but you can’t argue with the results. If you are prepared to suffer for beauty, and you’d rather try some cheap eyelash growth DIY tricks than opt for any of those expensive products, then give caster oil a go.

The first thing you need, of course, is caster oil. This is easily available over the counter. It is used as a cure-all and while it is not as popular of a medicine today as it was in your grandparents’ days, it is still widely used. One of the most most common uses for caster oil is as a laxative, and quite a volatile one at that. So if you get any funny looks from the sales staff when you buy it, you know why.

You should also buy some soothing aloe vera gel (which will definitely get you some funny looks if you buy song with the caster oil). Once you have those ingredients then simply mix some of the oil with the gel until you have something that is viscous and sticky, but is predominately caster oil.

Take an old mascara brush, dip it in and then coat your eyelashes in this substance. Do this before you go to sleep, leave it on all night and then wash it off in the morning. The oil will help to stimulate growth, while killing any organisms that restrict it. The aloe vera gel will help to soothe your skin and follicles. It also makes the oil easier to apply.

Natural Eyelash Growth

Eyelash Growth DIY

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as “natural eyelash growth”. Like the caster oil trick mentioned above, this is a eyelash growth DIY trick that is very cheap. And don’t worry, we’re not going to tell you just to sit and watch the clock while your eyelashes grow-in.

All you need to do is clean and brush you eyelashes. Simple as that. It seems overly simple. Silly even. But you’d be surprised how many women beg for longer eyelashes, use all of the products under the sun, but the ignore the basics. By regularly brushing your eyelashes and making sure they are clean, you’re removing all the dead skin cells that build up and you’re giving your lashes room to grow. You’re also helping to stimulate those follicles.

For most of you, the only time you clean your eyelashes is when you’re washing your face or using wipes to remove make-up. The only time you brush them is when you’re applying mascara. So, just take some time to focus on cleaning them and brushing them with a clean and dry brush every day. Five minutes at a time will suffice, and you should see the effects immediately.

Lemon Peels and Olive Oil

Lemon Peels for Eyelash Growth

One of our personal favorite eyelash growth DIY tips involves the use of lemon peels. Typically, it’s not advisable to put citrus anywhere near your eyes. But in this case it can help to add volume to you eyelashes and it’s incredibly cheap.

Simply peel a lemon and then let that peel dry before adding it to a small jar. Pour some olive oil into the jar so that it just covers the peels. You want them to be saturated, soaking up all they can of that delicious oil. Move the jar to a dry place and then simply leave it for a couple weeks. In the meantime, you can always try some of the other eyelash growth tricks above.

After a couple weeks the liquid will be nice and sticky, as well as a little pungent. When it reaches this stage you need to dip a dry mascara brush in the liquid and then coat your eyelashes with it. As with the caster oil and aloe vera trick outlined above, you need to leave this in overnight and then wash it off in the morning.

If you do this for a few weeks and you will begin to notice some positive effects. The peel of a single lemon will produce quite lot of this substance, enough to get you through those few weeks. So, if you do notice those positive effects then make sure you make another concoction straight away. That way you can continue using this eyelash growth technique for many months.

Olive Oil

Olive Oil Eyelash Growth

The eyelash growth technique mentioned above works because of a combination of olive oil and lemon peel, not just because of the lemon peel. Olive oil is hugely beneficial for the skin and the hair. It’s great, so it’s not always easy to use. But if you don’t want to go through the process of creating a pungent citrus concoction then you can simply mix some olive oil with aloe vera gel or some other skin-safe gel.

You can, of course, just dip the dry brush into a little olive oil and then apply it directly. This is a little messy though, so it’s advisable to use some other ingredient as a base. It is also possible to combine some of these eyelash growth techniques, but don’t try to coat your eyelashes with too many substances and avoid interchanging between different techniques. Find one that is easiest for you and use it for a few weeks to give it time to work. It can be a nuisance to keep such a regime up, but once you see the effects you’ll have the motivation you need to continue.

Eyelash Growth Serum: Five of the Best on the Market

Eyelash Growth Serum: Five of the Best on the Market

Eyelash Growth Serum

Want to grow your eyelashes? Eyelash growth serums could be the answer. As the name suggests, these products are designed to be applied to the eyelashes in order to stimulate growth. And while that sounds like a con sold to you by the cosmetics industry, there is a lot of truth to it.

On Hair Growth Pills we have covered hair growth formulas extensively. We have told you have certain foods can help you to grow your eyelashes and how certain vitamins can help with hair growth. Of course, just because such things exist and have been proven to be effective, doesn’t mean that every single product on the mark is legit. So, to make your life easier we have weeded out the ineffective products and the downright useless products and have compiled a list of the five best eyelash growth serums on the market.

We’re not saying that the eyelash growth serums not on this list are useless. We’re just saying that we have studied, used and researched most of them and these are our pick of the bunch.

5. Rapidlash Eyelash Enhancing Serum

Rapidlash

This is one of the simpler and less attractively packaged eyelash growth serums on the list. However, it’s also one of the cheapest, which balances things out a little. Of course, if this product didn’t work very well then it wouldn’t even be on this list, but we found it to be really effective and we were quite pleasantly surprised considering just how cheap it was.

Rapidlash Eyelash Enhancing Serum is easy to apply and contains a formula enriched with all kinds of proteins, minerals and amino acids, all of which serve to strengthen the hair and the follicles, while being kind to your skin at the same time.

You need to use this eyelash growth serum twice a day and you should begin to see effects within a few weeks. In our experience, it can take just a couple weeks for noticeable effects to show. But it may also take as long as 6 to 8 weeks.

4. Biotin Infused Lash & Brow Elixer

Biotin Infused Lash Brow Elixir

Created by Body Merry, this is a very simple product, evem more so than Rapidlash. We didn’t expect a lot from this product. It doesn’t make the big promises that some of the other eyelash growth serums on this page do, and even its name doesn’t promise much. But contrary to what that name suggests, this serum contains much more than simple Biotin. There are many other B Vitamins here, as well as other ingredients that can help your eyelashes to grow.

What’s more, Biotin Infused Lash & Brow is by far the cheapest product on this list. And if you focus on price per fluid ounce, it’s even cheaper. The other eyelash growth serums we discuss all come in small vials and bottles, and some of them are quite expensive. But this product is cheaper than rival products and the bottle is also much bigger. It might not be the fastest working serum or the most effective one, but it does work and if you’re on a budget it’s perfect.

3. Babe Lash

Babe Lash

Babe Lash is the both the name of the eyelash growth serum and the company that creates it. This product promises to give you thicker and longer lashes and for the most part, it delivers on that promise. Babe Lash uses a unique formula to attain this growth and most experience reports are positive.

In our own experience, Babe Lash didn’t quite achieve the growth that some of the other eyelash growth serums managed. However, we didn’t experience any kind of irritation or any other unpleasant side effects, we really liked the applicator and the presentation, and the overall experience was very pleasant. Babe Lash also focuses on conditioning your eyelashes, which is something that many similar products (not to mention customers) ignore. This is a crucial aspect of eyelash growth and it’s good to see that Babe Lash have paid attention to it with this product.

Whats more, Babe Lash is very affordable. It’s not the cheapest eyelash growth serum out there and it’s standard price is actually quite expensive. But there seem to be a glut of sales out there for this product and we found more sites selling it at a deep discount than we did sites selling it for its suggested retail price.

2. GrandeLASH-MD

GrandeLASH-MD

If you look for eyelash growth serums on Amazon, GrandLASH-MD will likely appear first. Thats because this is the bestselling eyelash growth serum on Amazon, one that has proved to be a huge hit with US customers. GrandeLASH-MD was designed to be used on both your eyelashes and your eyebrows. It promises results that you can see within just two weeks.

GrandeLASH-MD not only speeds up hair growth, but it also makes your eyelashes look thicker, adding volume and turning those overly-pruned eyebrows and those weedy eyelashes into something you can be proud of.

The reasons GrandeLASH-MD doesn’t make it to our number 1 spot are because it’s a little more expensive than some other products and some users have reported that it has irritated their skin and their eyes.

1. Talika Lipocils Expert Supplement

Talika Lipocils

This is a premium product in every sense of the word. It has a sleek design and a high quality feel, and it also has a rather substantial price tag. Talika Lipocils, which was created by Talika Paris, will cost you around $60. However, it promises to deliver results much quicker than other eyelash growth serums, and it lives up to that promise.

In our own experience, Talika Lipocils produces results in as little as a few weeks, with the average being just 28 days. Talka Lipocils is a gel that is easy to apply and doesn’t leak or run. The gel is enriched with many effective hair growth vitamins that you will find in most eyelash growth serums. But it also contains some unique ingredients like Horse Chestnut and Nettle Extract.

There are ingredients that soothe, ingredients that have a hydrating effect and ingredients that have an anti-inflammatory effect. It covers many bases at once, and that’s what makes this our number 1 eyelash growth serum.

How to Get Longer Eyelashes: Easy Hacks for Better Eyelashes

How to Get Longer Eyelashes: Easy Hacks for Better Eyelashes

How to Get Longer Eyelashes

One of the staples of female beauty is long, lush eyelashes. It goes hand in hand with the hourglass figure, the thick hair and the pouty smile, and it has been an ideal of feminine beauty since the dawn of the Hollywood starlet. Of course, beauty comes in many forms and we’re by no means suggesting that this is how everyone should look. But it’s a look that many women want and one that we’re happy to help with.

In this guide we’ll show you some tips and tricks on how to get longer eyelashes. Here on Hair Growth Pills our focus is typically on hair growth vitamins, beard growth supplements, medications for female hair loss and similar products. But we’re going to take a little detour for this article. We’ll show you how to get longer eyelashes using simple products that you already have in your beauty stash.

How to Get Longer Eyelashes: Hack 1: Olive Oil

Olive Oil to Grow Eyelashes

This wonderful oil of the Mediterranean has a great number of uses. It can help with problems of the blood, the heart and the intestines. It may be high in calories and fat, but they are good calories and good fat. What’s more, olive oil is just as useful outside of the body as it is on the inside.

You may have heard of olive oil being used to clean a build-up of ear wax. You may have heard of it being used to soothe skin problems. But did you know that it can also help you to grow longer eyelashes?

Olive oil is usually the first natural remedy of choice for anyone wanting to know how to get longer eyelashes. It is naturally high in Vitamin E and Oleic Acid, both of which can provide nourishment to your hair. They work right down to the roots, strengthening what’s already there and providing the support those follicles need to grow.

To use olive oil, first warm it up in the microwave. You want it lukewarm, not hot. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that hot oil is not good for the skin or the hair. You can then use a mascara brush to gently coat your eyelashes. Bear in mind that the brush will be ruined after doing this, so you may want to use an older brush.

Once you have applied the warm olive oil to your eyelashes, simply go to sleep with the oil on and then rinse it off in the morning. You can repeat this process every night and should start seeing some seriously noticeable effects within a few weeks.

How to Get Longer Eyelashes Hack 2: Castor Oil

Castor Oil to Grow Eyelashes

Castor Oil is a vegetable oil and one that is used for its anti-inflammatory benefits. It also acts as an antibacterial, and has many other positive effects. It is a product that you probably don’t use a great deal of these days, but one that was probably labelled as a miracle “cure-all” by your grandparents.

Most notably, caster oil is used as a laxative. And if you have ever used it for these purposes then there’s a good chance you have since banned it from ever entering your home again. But it’s time to bring this foul tasting, wonderful tonic back, because it could just help you to grow longer eyelashes.

Caster oil can be harsh on the body, which is why it has such a fast-acting effect on your bowels. But when applied to the skin the effects are not as harsh and just as beneficial. It can stimulate your hair follicles while nourishing them at the same time. The antibacterial properties also help to fight organisms that might be hampering hair growth. What’s more, it acts pretty quickly, and after just a few days of use you will begin to notice the benefits.

The best way to use castor oil to get longer eyelashes is in combination with aloe vera gel. Add a few tablespoons of the oil to a small bowl, add equal parts of aloe vera gel, and then apply it to your eyelashes on a nighttime using a swab. Be careful not to get it in your eyes and don’t apply too much. Leave the gel on your lashes overnight and then wash it off in the morning.

You can also just apply the castor oil, but the gel will help to hold it in place better while giving your skin an extra layer of protection.

How to Get Longer Eyelashes Hack 3: Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera to Grow Eyelashes

We mention aloe vera gel above. This is great when used in combination with castor oil. If you don’t have the oil then you can use aloe vera on its own. It is loaded with vitamins and minerals that can promote healthy skin and hair. You don’t have to sleep with it on your lashes overnight if you don’t want to. You don’t even have to leave it in for extended periods of time.

If you’re looking for something quick and easy then first make sure your eyelashes are free of mascara and have been cleaned. Then, take a pinch of aloe vera gel or liquid, and massage it in. Spend a few minutes doing this (with your eyes closed, of course) before washing it all off. The effects might not be as instant, but they will be there and you’ll notice a big difference if you do this on a regular basis.

How to Get Longer Eyelashes Hack 4: Regular Brushing

Many women have longer eyelashes than they realize. They just use too much mascara or they let the mascara sit on their lashes. This causes clumps that make the lashes look shorter than they are. Therefore, one of the best things you can do to get longer eyelashes is just make sure they are cleaned and brushed regularly.

Not only will this help to remove the excess mascara, but it will also shed the excess skin and other detritus that has built up on your lashes.

Don’t just brush once or twice either. You should work a regular eyelash brushing into your daily beauty regime, preferably in combination with one of the methods outlined above. So, after you wake up and wash the castor oil or olive oil off your eyelashes, spend a good five minutes or so brushing them. This will help to thin them out and to stretch them, which in turn will make them look longer.

Once you have done that then you can start applying your new mascara. After that you should see an instant improvement.
